Wednesday- Students planned their characterization essay.
Thursday- Students typed characterization essay about which character impacted Creon's journey as a modern tragic hero
Friday- Unit 1 Dramatic Justice Test

10th World September 18-22

Monday- I was out and we had a substitute; Students continued reading Act II of Zoot Suit
Tuesday- We finished Act II of Zoot Suit; Students completed and turned in their characterization chart.
Wednesday- Vocab 4 quiz; Students received their assigned prompts for the final essays; students crafted and showed me their thesis statements; students began planning their first body paragraph
Thursday- Students planned and drafted their first body paragraph for the final essay
Friday- Unit 1- Dramatic Justice Test

Honors World Literature September 11-15

Monday- SCHOOL CLOSED DUE TO IRMA
Tuesday- SCHOOL CLOSED DUE TO IRMA
Wednesday- Students read lessons 4.12 and 4.13 of Antigone in their textbooks; They worked on dialectical journals DUE FRIDAY; Students will have a vocab quiz on Friday over Vocab 3 as well.
Thursday- Writing instruction; wrote group paragraphs answering the prompt Who is the hero in Antigone? Once finished, students had time to work on their dialectical journals due the next day.
Friday- Students took Vocab Quiz 3. Students also turned in dialectical journals. Once finished we read Antigone as a class and students completed their Dialectical Journals for the last segment of class. The dialectical journals from 4.14 until the end of the play are due September 22. The Antigone Test will be Friday September 22 as well.

10th World September 11-15

Monday- SCHOOL CLOSED DUE TO IRMA
Tuesday- SCHOOL CLOSED DUE TO IRMA
Wednesday- Finished reading Zoot Suit Act I; Turned in Characterization Chart; Vocab 4 Introduced (VOCAB QUIZ TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 19)
Thursday- Writing instruction; wrote a body paragraph as a class answering the prompt How is Henry characterized in Act I of Zoot Suit? Students wrote I and D sentences independently and turned them in for feedback.
Friday- Rewrote examples of I and D sentences for practice; Started Act II of Zoot Suit; began filling out the characterization chart for Act II.
